I recently completed the delivery and installation of 33x 1.5 kw solar photovoltaic systems to a retirement home at Epping. I sub-contracted 2x electricians to assist. Total labour hours between 3 tradespersons 230 hours.

The job was initiated by offering the retirement home the following arrangement:

  • FREE supply and install of 33x 1.5 kW PV systems including consumables, metering and connection.
  • FREE annual maintenance of PV systems
  • 10% discount off current state regulated tariff (discount applied to published regulated retail tariff)
  • Renewable Energy at no extra cost
  • 50% share of revenue derived from from selling electricity back to the grid

In return the retirement home:

  • Signed an exclusive 5 year electrical retail contract that complies with retail regulations and conditions under the National Electricity Market, state electricity regulator and local distribution business
  • DO NOT retain ownership of PV systems
  • Claim only 50% of revenue derived from selling electricity back to the grid

Registration and trading rights to any RECS (Renewable Energy Certificates) under the national MRET (Mandatory Renewable Energy Target) scheme was retained by the owner of the PV systems.

Below are photos from the install.
